Can our daughter really have a mullet at such a young age? Yes, apparently she can. Grace's hair has continued to thin everywhere but the back lower portion which has created a mullet more prominent each day. Grace's godfather recently referred to it as a rat tail, which is just mean. I don't normally support jokes at your child's expense but I couldn't resist posting a picture of Grace's fantastic hair! Let's hope for her sake as she gets older the "business up front and party in the back" hairstyle will start to fade.

Who is this child?
If nothing more than for memory sake I had to post that Grace slept for 14 hours straight last night. I am attaching a picture so that David and I can go back and re-create the exact same environment, same pajamas, same everything in hopes that she does it again! Maybe she just missed her bed so much after being away for the weekend she wanted to spend a lot of time in it. Let's make this a habit, Gracie!
At the office...
Anyone who has met Grace in person knows how squirmy and active she is. She never stops moving so keeping her entertained can be a chore! We put her in an exersaucer at PEPS last week and she loved it so we brought ours up from the basement and gave it a try. Last night she twirled round and round in it playing with all the fabulous toys. She needed the help of a few cook books and a blanket to keep her standing upright but we all need a little help now and then. Dad says Grace looks like she is at the office in her desk chair doing work. If only work were this easy and entertaining! I foresee an easier time of cooking and eating in our future. Thanks baby einstein!
Weekend at Lummi
We had a great time up at Lummi this past weekend with Jesse and Kelly. The weather was great! We got outside for a few walks, blackberry picking and relaxing. Grace reminded us once again that she doesn't like the car--at all. My last post must have been a jinx. Our car was so full of stuff for the weekend that I couldn't ride in the back on the way there to calm her down. We made sure to make room for me on the drive home. Both David and I swore we would NEVER be one of those parents who rode in the back seat of the car. We now are. Above is a picture of Dad and Grace enjoying the front yard and view of the ocean in their hats.

The 3 month Gum!
Has it really been 3 months since I was in agony in the hospital waiting for my beautiful daughter to arrive? It has. David and I cannot believe it. As I have explained quite a few times to people, it seems like she has always been here, but then when I think that she is only 3 months old, that doesn't sound like very long at all!
At 3 months Grace is full of exciting things. She is rolling over both directions, which now makes it difficult to leave her anywhere unattended! She is sleeping well at night (Mom and Dad love this!) and she carries on quite the conversation in the form of Oooooos, which is very cute. AND.....she is starting to not cry in the car as much. To date, Grace hates the car--I mean hates the car--and screams and cries the entire trip. Grace and I had multiple peaceful car rides this week where the only sound was an occassional Ooooooo to her cow friend. I am so excited!
I received quite the comment last night from Morgan for not updating our blog frequently enough, so we will try to update more often from here on out. Thanks for babysitting Gracie, Tyler and Morgan! David and I had a great night out.

Genius invention
Grace is a busy little girl and always wants to be involved in what Mom and Dad are doing. Yesterday for the first time we tried out the Bumbo chair! Sure enough it was an instant hit. Grace sort of fit in it and sat up on the counter with us while we cooked dinner. She slowly began to slouch more and more because her head isn't quite strong enough! It was pretty cute.

Will we ever get this started....

It's now been nearly 11 weeks since Grace was born and our family blog still hasn't gotten off the ground. Leah is encouraging me to get it going so here is our official first post! Our goal is to keep our friends and family up to speed on the fun adventures life with a newborn provide. Each day Grace learns something new and fun. This way you all can check in with us at your leisure and you won't be stuck reading my long emails updating you on the latest. I am sure it will mostly consist of pictures!
Grace had quite the adventure this weekend with her cousins and great aunt in town from California. She took her first trip to the Green Lake kiddie pool, Seattle Center and Pike Place Market. She had a great time, sleeping through most of it in the bjorn or stroller--gotta love the life of a baby. I wish I had someone to push or carry me around all day long.
Yesterday Grace had her first photo shoot. Auntie Sarah was nice enough to take some time out of her busy schedule to take pictures of Grace. David and I now know that Sarah's motive was to see if she could get Grace to pee on both of us while taking some naked baby photos and sure enough, she did! Above are a few of the pictures Sarah took. Thanks Sarah, we can't wait to see the rest. They are beautiful so far.
Stay tuned for Grace's next great adventure...
